Sean has over 41 years of playing and coaching experience at the club, high school, college, & ODP levels. He has developed curriculum models and implemented player developmental programs at the recreational, club, & high school levels. He has led multiple teams to State Championship titles at the club and high school level; developed youth players for the state, regional, and national level ODP teams; prepared, trained, and promoted players to regional, national, and college soccer programs, and is a highly experienced goalkeeper trainer & technical director. Sean has been married to his wife Heather for 22 years and they have two daughters, Haley and Brooklyn who both play soccer with ASA. Coach Sean holds the US Soccer National “C” License & the NSCAA National Diploma.
John grew up playing soccer in the St. Louis area when he was 5. He was a candidate for the ODP Mid West team, and continues playing soccer today in the GMSA Division I men’s league. John’s coaching career includes teams at St. Louis Busch & Wolfpack, the Dallas Stars, Memphis Futbol Club, Germantown Fury, and Collierville Lobos. Coach John holds the US Soccer National “D” license.
Kelly grew up playing soccer locally for the Germantown Fury and St. Agnes Academy where she was considered one of the best soccer players to ever come out of Memphis. During this time, Kelly won State Championships with both her club and High School teams. She was named Gatorade High School Player of the Year, High School All American, and was a member of the TN ODP team, Regional ODP team, and the Women’s U15 National team. She continued her success into college as one of the top recruits for the Texas A&M University Women’s Soccer program, where she earned a starting position for one of the most successful Div I College programs in the country her Sophomore year. While at Texas A&M, Kelly received many honors that included, NCAA 2nd Round Finalist, Four Time Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, 4yr. DI Athlete, Texas A&M University, NCAA Sweet 16 Finalist, Preseason All Big 12 Team, Soccer Buzz All Central Region Third Team, NSCAA Player of the Week, All Big 12 First Team, and NCAA Elite 8 Finalist. After college, Kelly went on to play professionally for 2 years with the Austin Nationals and Houston Aces. She recently worked as a volunteer assistant coach with The University of Houston Women’s soccer program and Texas A&M. Kelly has also worked with young players in the Brazos Valley Youth Soccer Association and is a current staff member for the Texas A&M University Goalkeeper Camps.
Greg has been coaching with ASA for since the inaugural year. Greg grew up in Bartlett playing youth soccer and played competitively for the Rangers FC. Greg also plays and coaches a men’s soccer team for Greater Memphis Soccer Association. Coach Greg holds the US Soccer National “E” license and his State “D” License.
Phil is a native of Leeds, England. He played college soccer at Manchester University (UK) and semi-pro/amateur level adult soccer. He has over 23 years coaching experience winning multiple titles with St Giles Soccer Club in Greenville, SC., Upstate Girls SC (UGSA), Germantown Fury, and Midsouth FC. Phil worked in the UK for soccer company Umbro from 1983-1990 moving to Greenville, SC to work for Umbro USA from 1991-1999. In 1999 he moved to Memphis to work for Varsity Brands (running the Umbro and Select soccer division). Since 2011 he has worked for the Varsity Cheer business as VP of Customs Compliance and Import Management. Phil is married to his wife Kelly. Their daughter Ashley, a four year Varsity tennis player at St Benedict now attends the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. Coach Phil holds the US Soccer National “E” license.
Owen is originally from Diriamba, Nicaragua and grew up in Southern California. As a player he was a local standout in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles; he led his high school team (La Serna High) to two CIF semi-final appearances. As a senior he was Invited to the San Gabriel Valley all-star game. Owen played collegiate soccer at Mt. San Antonio college and San Diego State University. As a professional he played in Nicaragua Primera División for Diriangén F.C and Hermanos Molinas F.C. After playing soccer in Central America, Owen returned to the United state to finish his college degree and played soccer in the United State International Soccer League (USISL) for the Redlands "Inland Empire Panteras". As a coach, Owen has been involved with youth soccer for many years in Southern California under AYSO (Region 66) and recently the Arlington soccer program. Coach Owen holds the US Soccer National “E” license.
Ramon grew up in the Dallas area where he played youth soccer. Ramon has been coaching youth recreational and competitive soccer in the Arlington area since 2008. Coaching was initially a great way to help his children’s teams but soon became a commitment to player development. Coach Ramon has personally seen the impact of player development with his two daughters, both of which play for the Arlington High and Middle Schools and will continue their development with ASA this year. Coach Ramon holds a USSF "E" License.
Jarrod has coached youth soccer in Shelby and Tipton counties for over 10 years. He assisted in the formation of the first competitive youth soccer club in Tipton County. Jarrod is a Vice President in Business Development at Marsh ClearSight, and has been married to his wife Katie for 17 years. He has three boys, Cooper, Eli, and Brody who all play for Arlington. Coach Jarrod holds the US Soccer National “E” license and his State “D” License.
Grant was a local standout in the Memphis area as a player. He was TN state team member 1993-2000. He was on the ODP 1997-2000 Regional team. Best of preps finalist 97-2000. Winner in 2000. Adidas TN state player of the year 2000. High school All-American 2000. High school state and National Champions 1999-2000 (Houston high school). State Tournament MVP 2000. Invited to Elite Soccer Program (esp) in 1999. Under 23 National pool in 2001. Played at University of Memphis 2000-2001. Memphis Cup MVP 2002, while attending CBU 2002. Grant has coached with Memphis Futbol Club and has developed players for the regional and national ODP levels. Coach Grant holds the US Soccer National “E” license.
Greg has been coaching in the Arlington Youth Soccer program for over 9 years. He played competitive soccer in Texas and Memphis. He was a member of the TN State runner up team and a Best of Preps finalist in 1989 for Germantown HighSchool. Greg then went on to play college soccer at Christian Brothers University where he was a standout defender. Greg has also played and coached in the Division I GMSA adult league for many years. Greg has been married to his wife Amy for 18 years and has three children, Maddie, Walker and Gracie who all play in Arlington and ASA. Coach Greg holds the US Soccer National “E” license and his State “D” License.
Ryan has been coaching in the Arlington Youth Soccer program for 10 years. The last four have been with Arlington Soccer Academy. He played competitive soccer in Plano, TX and Memphis, TN. Ryan played High School soccer for Germantown High School, earning All Metro honors in 1992. He went on to play college soccer at Christian Brothers University. Ryan has been married to Bethany Paule for 13 years. He has two daughters, both who play for ASA, and a son. Coach Ryan holds the US Soccer National “E” license and his State “D” License.
Louis has over 15 years of experience coaching competitive, recreational and middle school in Memphis and Germantown, including the Germantown Soccer Club and Midsouth FC. He and his wife have two children, both played for the Germantown Soccer Club, Midsouth FC, CBHS and Saint Agnes. In 2015, he attended a Futsal weekend Clinic presented by Keith Tozer, Head Coach of the US Futsal National Team. He has a 5 year BBA with a concentration in Hospitality and Travel, he was recruited by the Hilton corporate office in 2004. Coach Louis holds a USSF National Youth license and USSF National ‘D’ license.
Stephen has over 13 years coaching experience. Stephen and his wife Lynda have 3 daughters who played competitive and high school soccer. Coach Stephen played soccer for the Sea Isle Park Rangers of the Memphis Motrin FC in the GMSA men’s Premier League and currently plays indoor soccer in the St. Ann adult recreational league. Stephen is the owner of LMK Building Designs, Inc. and was the first elected president of the Tennessee Structural Engineers Association in 2010. Coach Stephen holds the USSF National “C” License, National Youth License, and NSCAA National Diploma.
Nathan has played soccer in the Memphis area from the age of 4 both recreationally and competitively. At the age of 18, Nathan began coaching soccer at the recreational level. After 2 years of coaching recreationally, he was recruited as a coach for Panathinaikos Soccer Schools Memphis Academy and later Bartlett Soccer Club. He and his wife have been married 8 years and have 4 dogs. Nathan currently holds the US National Soccer “E” license.
